We Had a Great Fall Fellowship!

by Chris Brightwell on September 29, 2009

With our tenth annual Fall Fellowship now in the books, it’s safe to say that it was one of the best events we’ve had in a while.  We managed to avoid a complete washout (thanks to whoever diverted the rain away from camp!) to host 330 members for a great weekend of fun, food, and fellowship.  18 members sealed their membership by attaining Brotherhood and the 2009 Coosa Lodge Vigil Reciepients were inducted.

Friday night started with a bang, including a look back at the early days of Coosa Lodge from Dr. Flatt (our first Lodge Adviser!) and the Vigil Call-Out Ceremony.

Saturday was mostly dry (save for a few hours of light rain in the afternoon), but there was plenty to do.  We had people playing games on the parade field, the water slide was up and running at the waterfront, college football was on TV in the Scoutmaster’s Lounge, there was patch trading in the dining hall, and the trading post was open all day long.

Will Cole was elected to serve as the 2009-2010 Coosa Lodge Chief and has a fresh staff of Vice-Chiefs and Committee Chairman to work with.  Congratulations, Chief!

Saturday night featured an incredible 10th Anniversary Rededication Ceremony, featuring words from speeches of E. Urner Goodman, photos from ten years of Coosa Lodge history, and a great moment with the entire lodge joining together to sing the Order of the Arrow song.

Closing out Saturday night, we had the annual patch auction, played Rock Band 2 for a few hours, and watched as several of our Brothers tossed frisbees to each other on the parade field.

If you missed this event, you missed a really great weekend.  Next year’s Fall Fellowship is October 1-3 at Camp Comer, so mark your calendars now!

We’ll have the new LEC and Vigil lists online soon.  The lodge calendar is already updated.  Stay tuned for more updates.
