1st 2010 Hawk Day – Camp Jack Wright

by Davis Faulkner on April 18, 2010

Coosa Lodge will hold its first Hawk Day for 2010 this Saturday April 24th at Camp Jack Wright. Camp Jack Wright is located within Tannehill State Park near Bessemer, Alabama. All Arrowmen will need to enter the Camp through the Tannehill State Park entrance; just tell the guard they are there for Boy Scout workday at Camp Jack Wright. The guards will then give you directions to the Camp.

Hawk Day work will start sharply at 8:00 AM and we will work until 4:00 p.m. Please bring work gloves and hand tools (like shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows). Adults will bring and operate any needed power equipment such as chain saws and weedeaters. Each attendee should bring your own lunch and drink(s). Plan accordingly for the weather. The initial plan is to work on the entrance trails to 2 campsites. Here is the directions link to Camp: http://www.1bsa.org/tyfoon/site/calendar/media/34f80e380b1d044.pdf

(Ed. note: You can also find a map to Camp from our Council Camps & Offices page.)

Hope to see all of you there performing Cheerful Service!
