Hawk Day was held on Saturday May 22nd at both Camp Jack Wright and Camp Westmoreland. Brothers from the Southern area of our Lodge attended the outing at Camp Jack Wright and our Northern Lodge Brothers attended the event at Camp Westmoreland.
At Camp Jack Wright we had 35 Arrowmen and Camp Committee members in attendance. We worked on completing trails to the campsites by laying out gravel patways. We also added drainage pipe so the area would drain cleanly. Work was also done on the new Council Ring with a trail leading to it. We are grateful for the hard work completed by those attending – especially the members of Troop 72.
At Camp Westmoreland we had 30 Arrowmen attend the Hawk Day. The main items worked on at Camp included the clearing out of privet around the Parade Field; updates and maintenance of trails to the campsites and the clearing of the woods opposite the Ranger House so we will have a view of the Dining Hall once again. We also cleared out the Dining Hall kitchen in preparation for its expansion. Work was cut short due to all the activities at Camp including NYLT Staff Development and a Camporee.
All Arrowmen who put in 4 hours of Service earned the right to purchase a new “Service” Flap at the Fall Fellowship.
