Quick reminder: Hawk Day is this Saturday, May 22nd. We’re running two events in two locations at the same time. One will be at Camp Westmoreland, near Florence, while the other is at Camp Jack Wright, located within Tannehill State Park, off I-59 southwest of Birmingham.
For the GPS nerds, here are your waypoints:
For driving directions to the Tannehill State Park entrance, click here. Tell the guard at the gate that you’re there to help the Boy Scouts.
Both events start at 8am and end at 4pm. Bring your own lunch. Don’t forget your water bottle.
If you have hand tools (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, etc.), please try to bring them. We’ll have some tools on-site, but there’s a possibility that we’ll have more hands than tools. If you have a specialized background (plumber, electrician, tree removal, etc.), please let us know when you arrive. We may have special projects just for you.
For those who complete either the 8-12 or 12-4 work blocks, you will get an opportunity to buy a Hawk Day service flap at a later event. If you complete both blocks, you get to buy two.
