May Ordeal Weekend & Hawk Day Updates!!

by Davis Faulkner on May 11, 2010

This past weekend May 7th-9th Coosa Lodge had held a very successful Ordeal Weekend at Camp Comer. We had 83 new Ordeal members and 16 new Brotherhood members giving the Lodge a total of 113. Many thanks to all who attended and completed their Ordeal & Brotherhood. We are also grateful to our Elangomats who served as guides for our newest members and the Kitchen Staff for their hard work.

New Chapter Name: Other news includes the name change of the Japeechan Chapter to Nacha Sipo. This was done due to the merger of districts in the Council that formed the new Three Rivers District. Nacha Sipo is “Three Rivers” in Lenni Lenape.

Hawk Day’s are now finalized. We have them coming up at Camp Westmoreland and Camp Jack Wright (both on Saturday May 22nd). Both are scheduled for the same day so our Northern Chapters can cover Camp Westmoreland and the Southern Chapters can work at Camp Jack Wright. Please note that any Arrowman attending can earn the right to purchase the new Service Flap for every four hours of work they put in. These will be made available at a later event once the patches are produced. Please make sure you wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty, bring your lunch, drinks, gloves and tools for the event. The Hawk Days are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Camp Westmoreland is located near Florence, Alabama on Shoal Creek (see map link at: ). Camp Jack Wright is located in the heart of Tannehill State Park near Bessemer, Alabama (When entering the Park ask for directions to the site). See previous updates on the Hawk Days for more details

Hope to see you there!
