Conclave in Review

by N. G. Moore on April 17, 2011

This past weekend was Conclave at Camp Thunder. It was an amazing event where the 12 lodges in our section got together and had a blast, with ceremony evaluation, dance & drum competition, games, food, and special events. Coosa brought about 100 contingent members, and won numerous American Indian Dance awards and Ceremony awards. Things kicked off with a bit of rain, but, in the end, it turned out to be a great weekend. If you missed out this year, make sure to register for the 2012 Conclave at Camp Ben Hawkins!

Congratulations to our three new 2011-2012 Section Officers:
Jacob Schlies from Chattahoochee, Section Chief;
Nathan M. from Coosa, Section Vice Chief;
and Andrew Smith from Alapaha, Section Secretary.
Also, many great thanks to Dr. James Flatt, the outgoing Section Adviser, and Mr. Frank Harper, outgoing Associate Section Adviser. They’ve been doing great service and feel that it’s time to step down. Mr. Devlin Cooper is the new Section Adviser, and Mr. Greg Moore will continue his service as Associate Section Adviser.
We wish them all good luck and a great year!

May 20-22 is the first Ordeal of the year, and will be held at Camp Sequoyah. For candidates who have questions, please visit this page, and, more specifically, this page. The registration form for candidates going through the Ordeal can be found here. For current members, here. Pre-registration ends on May 6. We hope to see you there!
