Multiple Updates From Coosa Lodge, GAC #1

by N. G. Moore on August 7, 2011

July 24-30 was SummitCorps week 4, and Coosa lodge sent a contingent of 20 to participate in this amazing service project. Each member who went served by helping make 13+ miles of trail for four days, all the while making friends and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood with Arrowmen from across the nation. On Friday, everyone was treated to a fun day of white-water rafting. Everyone who went had a blast, and everyone’s looking forward to the next big project.

August 1-6 was Indian Summer, and Coosa sent a handful of Arrowmen to Ridgecrest, North Carolina to learn all about Native American attire, customs, and practices while honing their skills in dance, ceremonies, drumming, and beading.

The next event is September 9-11 is the second Ordeal of the year, and will be held at Camp Comer. The pre-registration deadline for candidates is August 26 and the late fee will be an extra $20. There is no late fee for members. If have been called out but haven’t pre-registered, go ahead and fill out the pre-registration form and bring it with you when you register on-site. There will be a Brotherhood ceremony Saturday afternoon, so, if you’ve been a member for 10 months or more, come out and seal your membership in the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service! If you have any questions about this weekend, contact myself at communications@coosa50.org or the Lodge Chief at chief@coosa50.org. We’ll be glad to help.
