Fall Fellowship is TOMORROW! Here’s everything you need to know.

by Chris Brightwell on October 4, 2012

Okay, we’re about 30 hours from kicking off the 2012 Coosa Lodge Fall Fellowship.  The theme for the weekend is “A Very Coosa Christmas” and all of the details are coming together nicely. This is an event that you won’t want to miss!

We’ve sent out a ton of information over the last ten days, so here’s a quick recap:

  • The event is this weekend — Friday evening through Sunday morning — at Camp Sequoyah (Google Maps: 4936 County Road 11, Delta, AL 36258). Registration starts at 5pm.
  • If you’ve been an Ordeal members for 10 months or longer, it’s time to consider sealing your membership in the Order by attaining Brotherhood. It’s free! For more information on Brotherhood, check out our Brotherhood Study Guide (click here for password info) or head over to the national OA JumpStart page.
  • There will be a TON of updated swag in the trading post.  This includes new shirts, new hats, new jackets, and specialty items like Christmas ornaments!  Be sure to stop by the trading post during the weekend to check out all that’s new.
  • Dinner will not be served Friday, but there will be a Coosa Christmas Cookie Gala before the Vigil Call-Out Ceremony.
  • Campsites will be assigned based on your Chapter. Please plan to camp with your Chapter. This helps us build morale and rapport among each Chapter, but it also helps us find you in the middle of the night in case of emergency. Click here for campsite assignment information. Camp maps will be available at registration.
  • Speaking of campsites, there will be limited availability on platform tents and they’re available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If you’re planning to camp in one of those, be sure to pack a tent as backup.
  • Camp Sequoyah operates under a limited vehicle access policy. Plan to park in the main parking lot and hike your gear to your campsite. Trailers will also be available to shuttle your gear from the parking lot to your campsite and back.
  • The weekend’s full schedule (subject to change!) can be found in the latest Red Feather Herald.  Click here to download the latest Red Feather Herald.
  • Saturday morning will feature a slate of sessions we call “Hawk Talks”. For more Hawk Talk info, click here.
  • Saturday afternoon will feature, among a host of other things, a set of inter-chapter competitions. Click here for “Arctic Quest” info.
  • We’ll be showing several Christmas movies in the Dining Hall throughout the weekend.  Click here for the full movie lineup.
  • Coosa Shows has a few new tricks up their sleeves, so be sure not to miss the Saturday night arena show in the council ring.

Finally, Mr. Seth Hill has asked that we post this about the Saturday night patch auction:

Make plans to attend the 13th Annual Coosa Lodge Patch Auction during the 2012 Fall Fellowship. Held Saturday night after the Arena Show this fun-filled, action packed auction is always a crowd pleaser. Whether you are a novice collector or a die hard patch hound there will be something for everyone. Auctioneer Kevin Howard is ready to break out the “thread” to raise the “bread” to help the campership fund of the Greater Alabama Council. We need all hands on deck to help make this auction the most successful yet! With some great surprise items you don’t want to miss this! For more information or details on how to donate items to the auction contact Seth Hill at phillip.seth.hill@gmail.com.

The weather forecast is perfect (see for yourself!) and the Fellowship Committee has worked really, really hard to make this one of the best Fall Fellowship events we’ve had in a while.  If you miss this one, you’ll probably regret it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send us an email, post a comment here, post  to our wall on Facebook, or send us a tweet.  We’ll do our best to answer your question as quickly as possible.

See you at camp!
