Next Weekend: Hawk Day at Camp Tranquility

Our upcoming Hawk Day is scheduled for February 2nd at Camp Tranquility, located inside Oak Mountain State Park, from 8am to 4pm.

Youth will conduct cleaning and service work on the roads to clear the culverts and ditches as well as removing overgrowth in the campsites, Also there will be work on the Rock Leader Lodge and the Old Unit Lodge for the Adult members. We need as many carpenters as possible to help us with work in and around the Lodges. This part of the event will be an Adults only function and we need as many able bodied volunteers to assist. We will have the supplies on hand to assist with this function. When complete this lodge with a fireplace and grille will house 40+ Scouts for any event.)

All members of Coosa Lodge are invited.

You will need to bring your own lunch and drinks. This is a primitive camp and has very little in the way of amenities.

Please bring gloves, work clothes, shovels, wheelbarrows, pruners, saws, chainsaws, rakes, hammers, generators.

Each Lodge Member can earn their Coosa Service Flap and a special Camp Tranquility “Service Crew” patch for the event. Also can use the hours toward School Service & Scout Rank Service Hours.
