Coosa Film Festival was a Box Office hit!

Boy, was it a blast! For Coosa’s big 15th anniversary, Scouts from around northern Alabama gathered at Camp Sequoyah for the “Coosa Film Festival” 2014. With nearly 200 in attendance in addition to inflatables, games, elections, tap-outs, and new memorabilia releases, this was a fantastic weekend!

Friday night started with Opening Credits, including an address from then-Lodge Chief John Mayhall who welcomed everyone and introduced the new official Coosa Lodge member flap (stay tuned for a future update), After a few words and some photos on the Red Carpet, it was time for the annual Vigil call-out ceremony. This year, Coosa recognized 16 Brotherhood members with the Vigil Honor, 14 of whom were tapped out Friday.

Amongst all the fun and fellowship taking place Saturday, Lodge elections were held for the new slate of LEC officers which who will lead Coosa through the Order’s centennial in 2015. More details on the new officers will be released later this week, but we’ll go ahead and let you know that Coosa Lodge’s new Chief is William Tidwell.

Come Saturday evening, it was time for the closing show. Featuring various awards, videos, and a heartfelt speech by John Mayhall, Coosa Shows put together an excellent program to wrap up “Coosa Film Festival” 2014. Overall, this year’s Fall Fellowship was a hit! Keep an eye out on Coosa’s Facebook and Twitter for updates later this week on our new officers, memorabilia, Vigil Honor Recipients, and the upcoming ScoutFest 2014!
