NOAC Registration Update

by Chris Brightwell on October 2, 2014

Yesterday, on Facebook, the official national committee posted this on the official Order of the Arrow Facebook page:

We have had tremendous interest in NOAC 2015 and are excited about what will prove to be our largest conference in our 100 years. To put this in context, we currently have 50% more participants and staff registered than our largest conference ever. We had planned on opening the registration site on October 1st to allow lodges to add additional participants to their contingents. Unfortunately, due to overwhelming demand we have reached our capacity to accept additions to existing contingent registrations at this time.

In the short term, this will have absolutely no effect on us or on our ability to sign new people up for NOAC.

When registration first opened, the Coosa Lodge Key 3 anticipated that something like this might happen and immediately sent registration deposits for a very large block of participants.

Without getting into specifics, about half of those slots are still available. Click here to register online.

There are enough slots that anyone who wants to sign up between now and the end of Fall Fellowship should be able to do so, but let me be clear: once these slots are full, we do not know if or when we will be able to get more slots.

There have been some rumors that registration is “closed”, or “closing”. This is absolutely not true. Not yet, anyway. We have plenty of GUARANTEED slots still available, plus the national committee is working hard to find a way to make more room for more people.

If you want to attend NOAC as a member of Coosa Lodge, I want to strongly urge you to sign up and pay your $100 deposit as soon as possible. We will establish a waiting list when we need to (and I fully expect that we will need to), but once again we do not know if we will be able to buy more slots for our participants.

This is the biggest NOAC ever (more than 10,000 Arrowmen!) and we’re taking our biggest contingent ever. We might be taking the biggest contingent in the country. We will probably take up most of whatever dorm building we’re in.

NOAC is going to be a ridiculous amount of fun and you absolutely don’t want to miss out on this just because you waited too long to get your registration and deposit turned in.

I’m going. You should go, too.

The 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conference, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Order of the Arrow, will take place August 3-8, 2015, at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. The cost to our members to participate will be between $300 and $400.
